How to Use Kingfisher Damp Proof Paint
Preparation
Ensure all surfaces are sound and free from loose material, dust, oil, grease, and rubber marks. For optimal performance, Kingfisher waterproofing paint should not be applied over previous coatings like emulsion paints or bitumen, as these can prevent proper bonding.
When using it as a wall damp-proofing solution, ensure the masonry/brickwork is flush and correctly pointed. Repair any defects in existing surfaces. Ideally, you want a smooth surface with a trowelled or brushed finish.
For use as a liquid moisture barrier, confirm that the substrate is load-bearing and that any laitance is removed mechanically (this is common on new concrete floors/screeds).
Application
Please just make sure to stir the contents thoroughly before use. The anti-damp coating can then be easily applied using a brush or roller, following standard decorating best practices.
To treat internal walls, we recommend a sandwich system—remove the existing render, apply the waterproofing membrane, and then apply new plaster.
Two coats are recommended for all applications. Apply the second coat at right angles to the first for optimal coverage. Allow the first coat to become touch dry (typically within an hour) before applying the second coat, which should be done within 24 hours. Once the second coat is dry, you can paint over it or apply wallpaper as desired.

Stain Blocked
Had problems with damp patch appearing in wet weather and took Kingfisher's advice to remove the plaster (turned out someone had previously tried!) Sealed the exposed brick and cement with this paint, then plastered with the Limelite plaster. Early days but seems to have worked.

Did what it promised
I bought it to prevent dampness and water ingress at the base of my concrete prefab garage and through some cracks in the sections, I cemented the base with a fillet and cracks as recommended and we've had lots of rain since and my garage floor has stayed bone dry, extremely pleased with the product, although would be better if it could be bought in smaller tubs as i have barely used any of the paint and did two coats
