Damp walls are more than just a nuisance that spoils paintwork and décor. Left unchecked, rising damp and penetrating damp can lead to more serious structural problems and even health issues for occupants,
so early remedial damp treatment is essential.
At Kingfisher we have been developing and manufacturing damp proofing products for over thirty years and crucially we have worked closely with specialist contractors, to ensure that all our systems and products work in the real world.
Additionally, this practical perspective gives us an edge in helping customers to correctly diagnose and then resolve, rising damp and lateral penetrating damp problems.
As with most journeys, it really helps to know your starting point and this is where Kingfisher can help.
In an era when companies increasingly refer customers to find information “on our website”, we would rather you called us for advice.
That way we can fully support you in identifying the source of your damp problem.
Moisture ingress can be hard to pinpoint, but this is where experience comes into play and we have decades of it to bring to bear in diagnosing your particular damp issue.
So don’t waste time and money ordering the wrong product, speak to one of our friendly technical experts today.
Having diagnosed your damp problem, you now need all the kit and guidance to sort it out. Whether it is a water repellent to stop rain penetrating your lime mortar or an injected damp course for a brick wall,
Kingfisher has the proven products to solve even the most complex structural water proofing challenges.
Our Technical Data Sheets offer detailed guidance on using our products but in an easy-to-follow and jargon-free format. They are pdf format and can be found underneath the product description / photograph.
Restore a degraded damp proof course or install in older walls which never had one to begin with.
Our popular range of cream based Damp Proof Injection Kits allow small projects to be tackled quickly, effectively and inexpensively, ideal for small contractors and more experienced DIY-ers.
For specialist DPC contractors we offer pressure Injection Fluid systems for those larger scale projects and thicker walls, along with the specialist plasters and admixtures needed to effectively manage the “drying out” phase..
We are commonly asked how to seal a damp floor, usually in older properties and our epoxy products are the default choice for solving this problem.
Epoxy resin is tremendously versatile on damp floors, whilst being easy to use and saves the soul destroying and expensive work of breaking out old but otherwise serviceable concrete floors.
Lateral penetrating damp is undoubtedly the most common source of dampness in U.K buildings and often the one which causes the most confusion.
This is simply because rain can travel some distance through a wall before finding an exit point inside the building.
Consequently the offending damp patch on the interior wall might be several feet from the weak point on the external face of the building.
The good news is that in most cases this form of damp is easy to treat and relatively inexpensive.
Our range of water repellents includes products which can be applied in challenging weather conditions Stormseal and our high performance Extreme Climate which combats storm driven moisture in exposed locations.
A wet wall is a cold wall. If we get soaked to the skin in a winter shower, we feel cold much faster than if we were dry under a waterproof jacket. Why? Water absorbs latent heat and draws that heat away from our body as it evaporates and the same happens with buildings, only the moisture can be absorbed more deeply into porous building materials like brick and mortar, sometimes accumulating for months in the dark days of winter.
Efficient damp protection can improve a building’s thermal performance by many percentage points, depending on the particular construction.
Due to ADR regs on transport of flammables we can only send 25L drums of solvent product via premium rate special carrier, hence minimum FREE carriage order is 4 x 25L or ring for a quote. Alternatively, you can still collect single 25L drums at our Ulverston or Glasgow trade counters.
Stormseal the breathable brick & masonry water-seal you CAN apply in damp conditions. Unlike conventional surface damp treatments, Stormseal doesn’t rely on dry weather for successful application. Effectively seal damp external walls, even in winter.
Extreme Climate is the ultimate high performance masonry water seal for harsh environments. Applied in just ONE COAT it provides 100% breathable surface protection for damp brick walls, sandstone, limestone, granite and more. Using the latest hydrophobic technology it offers unparalleled performance and versatility even in the most exposed locations.
Superseal TWO COAT Polyoxo aluminium stearate-based water seal is a breathable brick sealer with outstanding water repellency. 100% breathable protection for stonework & brick. In soft brick, our professional water seal penetrates up to 5mm.

Terrain TM3 Membrane is a high performance waterproofing membrane with a 3 mm stud, to prevent the penetration of water through walls and floors. This can be used as part of a Type C Cavity Drain Membrane Waterproofing System.
Terrain Plaster Plugs are used for the application of Kingfisher Mesh membrane Systems.
Terrain Plaster Plugs with seals are used for the application of Kingfisher Mesh membrane Systems.
Terrain Brick Plugs are 60 mm fixings to use when applying membrane systems to walls.
Terrain Fibre Tape is used to join waterproof plaster membranes together, and enable direct plaster or dot-and-dab application on top.
Terrain Corner Strip Tape is used to seal membranes at walls and floors and to fix perimeter drainage channels in place.
Terrain 50mm Outlet to take water from the waterguard
The Terrain Waterguard Connector Piece is a push fit joint section that allows all channel sections to connect together to form a seamless passage for water to flow and also helps inhibit lime build up. This also helps reduce movement at jointing sections.
The Terrain Extended Jetting Eye has been designed to allow cleaning and inspection of the channel system waterguard or floor drain.
Flaking paint, peeling wallpaper and crumbling plaster are just a few of the many symptoms which can originate from rising damp in buildings. Dri-wall DPC injection cream is the quick and versatile solution to effectively bring damp walls under control.
Where traditional pressure injection fluid cannot be used, Dri-Wall is the answer. An advanced, ready-to-use, chemical damp proofing formula which forms an effective moisture barrier within the wall.

Tankit, the premium tanking slurry of choice for professionals since 1989! Works first time, every time, even on the toughest waterproofing jobs. Seal problem damp areas where injection methods won’t work. Tank walls, ponds, channels, bathrooms and more…
An absolutely essential component of the Kingfisher tanking system, Anti-Sulphate (Ground Salt Neutraliser) must be applied wherever ground water has penetrated. This is because ground water contains sulphates and chlorides which degrade Tanking materials.
Kingfisher K-X11 Waterproof Admixture is a copolymer blend of latex and acrylics. This waterproofing admixture for mortar dramatically improves the characteristics of the mix, providing water resistance, adhesion, strength and flexibility to both renders and screeds.
Primarily used to seal wall to floor joints as an integral part of our Tanking system. Barrier mortar is easy to use and highly effective.
Only use genuine "Kingfisher drywall renovating plaster" following chemical injection treatment for rising damp. Our salt retardant plaster beats standard "off-the-shelf" browning plasters because they cannot cope with the drying out process and frequently fail.
