It is said that "we are all products of our environment". If that means we are shaped by those influences and conditions that surround us, then we believe the same must be true for businesses too. It is certainly true of Kingfisher and has been since 1988.

Our little corner of the world is the extraordinary Lake District. We are indeed fortunate to live and work in a place which, for most people, is seen as a beautiful outdoor playground and romantic haven. For us it is ingrained into almost everything we do, it is both our identity and a driver of purpose.

Most of our products were originally developed to solve problems encountered by building professionals often working in remote, exposed locations with traditional materials; slate, fell stone, lime mortar and heritage timbers. The logic has always been "make it work for the harshest conditions in Cumbria" and the same product will over-perform almost any other environment. A sort of "worst case" yardstick for quality.

Our originally derived "Lakes & Fells" colour ranges are largely inspired by this landscape and the creatures that inhabit it: including Ennerdale Stone, Tern’s Bill, Derwent Sky, & Herdwick Fleece.

Our origins here stretch back well over thirty years and we remain a tight knit team, privately owned and dedicated to developing and manufacturing superior products. paints, coatings, sealers and structural waterproofing systems that protect and enhance homes from cityscape to mountain range.
