Epoxy Floor Paint becomes touch dry in approximately 8 hours at 20°C. However, we recommend waiting 24 hours before applying a second coat and allowing 48 hours (72 hours in colder temperatures) before subjecting the floor to vehicle traffic or heavy machinery. Complete cure is achieved after 7 days, when the coating reaches its maximum chemical and abrasion resistance.
Standard Kingfisher Epoxy Floor Paint requires a dry substrate for optimal adhesion. If your concrete floor exhibits signs of rising damp or moisture issues, we recommend using our specialised Damp Floor Epoxy Sealer Kit instead, which is specifically formulated to address these conditions while providing the same protective benefits.
Our epoxy floor paint provides coverage of 4-6 square meters per litre. For a standard two-coat application, calculate your floor area (length × width) and divide by 5 (average coverage) to determine litres needed per coat. For example, a 5m × 5m garage (25 square meters) would require approximately 5 litres per coat, or 10 litres total for the recommended two-coat application.
Yes, Kingfisher Epoxy Floor Paint is highly resistant to various chemicals, including oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, solvents, acids, alkalis, and detergents. Spills should be cleaned promptly, but the coating protects against staining and chemical degradation. It is ideal for automotive workshops, industrial environments, and areas subject to occasional chemical exposure.
For the best results, we recommend removing existing paint before applying our epoxy floor coating. However, if the existing paint is firmly bonded to the substrate with no flaking or peeling, Kingfisher Epoxy Floor Paint can be applied after thorough cleaning, degreasing, and light sanding to create a mechanical key. If in doubt, perform a small adhesion test in an inconspicuous area or consider completely removing the existing coating.
Used kingfisher for exterior paint so thought we’d try their epoxy floor paint to refurb the floor in our van wash bay. It was surprisingly easy to apply and we got a bit of help from their technical so knew what we were doing. Would recommend/ use again. Make sure you mix per the instructions.

We purchased 6 of these for our showroom area and applied them over a weekend. Dried quickly and the dark grey really sets off our stock but most of all it is tough - pallet trolley wheels barely mark it!

We applied this to our fleet workshop floor in November and it is a huge improvement over the old floor paint which always flaked off (still looks good 6 months on). Not cheap but seems to be much tougher and doesn't go soft when petrol or brake fluid spills on it. Prompt delivery and good technical advice. Now applying to our despatch area.
