Welcome to our new series: Kingfisher Customer Stories. This week we hear how one landlord solved a serious mould problem for less than £180...with a little help from Kingfisher:
As a landlord, there's a simple equation I live by: “happy tenants = happy landlord”. So when one of my usually reliable tenants refused to pay the rent because of a problem in their flat, I knew there was something seriously wrong.
The Problem:
This particular tenant told me straight up, "Fix the mouldy bathroom, or I'm not paying rent this month." The issue? It all started with a bathroom fan that had been acting up for a while and then gave out completely. So, I replaced the fan and got the bathroom repainted, thinking that would do the trick.
The Complication:
Mould, though, is a tricky thing. It came back within two weeks, much to the frustration of my tenant, who prided herself on keeping the flat spotless. At a loss, I asked a decorator for advice, and they suggested I contact Kingfisher. With this, I didn't just fix the mould in the bathroom and deal with the current issue; I also took steps to keep it from coming back in the future. My tenant was happy, and she started paying her rent on time again.
