Classic Emulsion – Create your perfect space
- Outstanding Adhesion
- Apply with brush or roller
A carefully crafted "flat" interior finish with durable qualities which will enhance the walls and ceilings of your home in varying light conditions. Our combination of bold and subtle natural tones have been imagined blending seamlessly with each other, leaving you free to create a harmonious look in either traditional spaces, or in open plan living, where colour can provide effective separation or delineation within an overall design.
"Bring the outdoors in" with Kingfisher's Classic Emulsion range and combine a flawless matt finish with our rich, contemporary "Lakes & Fells" collection. As a small manufacturer we may not have a team of sophisticated designers to formulate "on trend" colour palettes but we are blessed to be in one of the most inspiring landscapes to be found anywhere. So, the colours were all there for us in four seasons and varying weather conditions, all we had to do was look almost naively at the geology, water, sky, plants and animals to capture them. Perhaps it is not surprising therefore that these colours will blend and contrast as naturally in your home as they do amongst the serene mountains and valleys they came from.
Please Note: Computer screens and printers do not render colour consistently. Our “Lakes and Fells Collection” colours are made to order (Excepting White & Magnolia) so ordering a tester pot is highly recommended to check your colour preference accurately, before making your final choice. For best results, ensure that surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust. If necessary, wash down with a damp cloth or sponge to remove dirt, grease and dust residues. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry fully.
2. Stain Obliteration
If heavy staining remains after cleaning it may be advisable to facilitate subsequent decoration by disguising such staining through use of a proprietary obliterating primer or
Kingfisher Damp Guard.
3. Repair surface defects
Any surface defects should be filled before painting with a premium plaster filler e.g. Everbuild TM. All Purpose Filler. Seal any areas that remain powdery with
Kingfisher Floor & Wall Seal.
4. Existing Paint
Classic Emulsion will cover most existing matt finish emulsions but care should be exercised with some eggshell or vinyl finishes which are typically resistant to over‐painting. Such surfaces may be “keyed” with a power orbital sander or some may respond to priming with
Kingfisher Floor & Wall Seal. Care should be taken when sanding any pre‐1960s wood or metal finishes as these may contain harmful lead.
Stir thoroughly before use.
Apply minimum 2 x coats of “Classic Emulsion” by brush, roller or airless spray. Additional coats may be required to cover strong background colours.

Seal new or bare surfaces with a thinned coat of “Classic Emulsion” (1 part water to 5 parts paint).
If applying by airless spray, add up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint.

Tried various colours from other brands but the Classic Duck Egg goes brilliantly with white tiles.

Good quality paint
Okay, so I didn't actually buy this paint, it was the client's choice. I hadn't used Kingfisher emulsion before (think they are more known for masonry paint??) but I am pleasantly surprised by how it flows, the coverage and depth of colour. Website seems to show a good range of colours.
