Stone & Brick Sealers - More Information
Porous Masonry surfaces, which allow the penetration of rainwater, cause the following problems:
- Damage from the freeze/thaw cycle. The absorbed moisture freezes, thereby expanding and spalling brickwork, render, stone facing, ornate moulding, concrete and mortar joints.
- Heat loss caused by absorption of water and subsequent evaporation of that water. This can sometimes increase the surface condensation experienced internally.
- Staining caused by grime and soot carried in water droplets and deposited in the Masonry surface when the water is absorbed.
- Efflorescence on Masonry as water penetration brings salts and minerals to the surface
- Growth of green slime, algae and moss, caused by the high moisture content in the Masonry allowing the growth to root.
Here at kingfisher we offer a range of Masonry and stone protection products to combat all of these problems. Using the latest in fluorocarbon technology we can guarantee some of our Masonry treatments for up to ten years.
